What Sets SS501 Different From Other Boy Bands?

For me, SS501 is one-of-a-kind. Why? Well, to answer that, I've listed 10 things that set SS501 apart from all the other Korean boybands. And these are:

1. They are the wackiest group I've ever seen. And when I say wacky, I really mean WACKY! As in hilarious, funny, wild, crazy... you name it. In an adorable way.
   
2. Each member can both SING and DANCE really well. And other than singing and dancing, they have other talents that are just fab. A gifted, talented bunch of guys.
   
3. Almost all of their songs in their albums are great to listen to! Other groups have, like, 1 or 2 songs that are pretty decent, and the rest are crap. But with SS501, all their songs are good!
   
4. All SS501 members complement each other, and they each contribute something that is essential to the group as a whole. Their personalities combined make the group a harmonious body working as one.
5. You can't help but love SS501 because they're just so adorable together. Even other artists love these boys, there's just nothing you can hate about them.
6. They are prettier than flowers. They're simply the prettiest group around. Hands down. Just look at all the other boybands, even if you pick their most handsome member and add them all together, it wouldn't even equal SS501's prettiness combined. I mean, in other groups, there's only 1 or 2 decent looking members, and the rest are, well... never mind. But with SS501, ALL OF THEM ARE HANDSOME!!!
7. These boys can make you smile, laugh, and cry... sometimes, even at the same time! They bring fun, excitement, and a range of different emotions that will inspire you, help you through the tough times, uplift you when you're feeling sad, and comfort you when you're down. They move people not just with their music, but with their very personalities.
8. They love their fans so much. I mean, I know all artists love their fans, but these boys really make the extra effort to show it to their fans. The love they have for their fans can't be measured. They even go out of their ways just to show how grateful they are to the fans and to show their appreciation.
9. Their bond is amazing. They treat each other like brothers, not just band mates. I'm not kidding, this is like the BIGGEST reason why I love them so much. You can't help but be touched by their love for each other.
10. They are the most down-to-earth. No matter how popular they are, they still have their feet on the ground. They never boast, and they always remain humble. They didn't change just because of FAME. They are the same adorable, kind, sweet guys they were back when they first debuted.

I hope that with these reasons, Triple S fans will be reminded why we all love SS501 so much. 30 Reasons/Facts to Love SS501

Allright, let's take a break little before i got too sentiental. I got this from some Triple S, Lee eun jae in her JL. Thanks so much for her. I sort of placed some nicknames I suppose so for you not to be confused...

Bebe (its like baby) is Kim Hyung Joon (the maknae)
Leader is obviously Kim Hyun Joong
Jungmin is just jungmin (sorry was rush in typing all of this)
Prince is Young Saeng
& Kyujong is Kyujong... I feel embarrassed to say the nickname I gave him *blushes*
So here we go, the 30 reaseons to love SS501...

1. Jungmin & Kyujong mentioned during the broadcast of Young Street Radio that they will buy food for their fans waiting outside the radio station, in the end they really did buy for their fans.

2. On a cold day Leader bought Hottokyu(?) for their fans waiting for Music Bank!

3. Some fans waited in front of Bebe's house until midnight and the last bus has already left during that time. Bebe felt that it wasn't really safe for them to go home late at night so he sent them to a Sauna that was open all night.

4. Bebe sends hot water to their fans waiting outside their home.

5. Jungmin and Kyujong heard that one of their fans wasn't able to continue her studies because of money, the two of them gathered up their money and paid for the fans tuition fee.

6. Young Saeng likes to mention his fans as his "babies" from time to time in his last entries.

7. When a fan cried once in a signing event of SS501 after shaking Bebe's hand, he stood up and helped the fan wipe her tears away.

8. Leader posted an entry last October 2009 (if I'm not mistaken) where he mentioned this "I told you all this before right? I will protect you all..."

9. Even if Leader sometimes doesn't show his leadership skills because he loves having fun with fans and being silly like Jungmin, although he shows his great leadership skills when it is most needed.

10. MKMF had a voting through cellphones, Jungmin mentioned that they don't need that kind of award and told their fans not to waste their money voting for them.

11. Kyu Jong says he must always do an impressive job considering he is part of a group like SS501.

12. Leader always says that sincere and lovely letters made by fans mean more and are more expensive compared to actual expensive material things.

13. During 2006 MKMF there were some Triple S members who were not able to enter the stadium because of the guards, Leader then spoke indignantly saying "It's a really cold weather, why won't you persistently let our fans in?" as he spoke for Triple S.

14. There were fans who gathered up in front of SS501's house making noise causing the neighbors to get mad. Leader made the other members return inside the house and apologized to the neighbors himself.

15. Leader mentioned that it wasn't Triple S' job to protect them, but instead it was their job to protect their lovely fans.

16. When someone asked Leader what they wanted as gifts form fans he went out to say "The things that we need, fans do not need to buy for us because we will buy it ourselves." (claiming that fans do not need to spend too much money for material things for the boys.)

17. A fan sent Leader a branded handbag and he said he felt bad about accepting the gift because it felt like she just bought a million of the same CD of SS501.

18. Kyujong loves to use the things fans give him, one of them is xiaochu's horse stick which appeared a lot of times in Young Street.

19. It is known if Korea that a person must bow down 90 degrees towards someone who was was sunbae (senior) to them but Kyujong even bows 90 degrees to those who aren't. (a little trivia, in the SM Megamall Mall Tour of U-KISS 7 lucky girls got up on stage to be partnered with the boys and Kim Ki Bum bowed down more than practically 90 degrees towards the girl he was with on stage.)

20. When Triple S fans were blamed for throwing lightsticks at SNSD during their performance once, Leader and Jungmin defended their fans and said "Green is a color, it can represent anything, so there is no need to blame our fans because they share their love to all artist and respect even those they hate or dislike."

21. When SS501 was busy working preparing themselves for their performance the following day on Music Bank, a bunch of fans were outside and did not expect the rain to start pouring hard, SS501 fans tried to find anything that can cover up their fans and sent it to them outside.

22. SS501 have spent their time with their fans over at Jeju Island which they gave as a treat for them and they spent a night with them as well.

23. Leader said that when he renews his contract he wants DSP to be nicer to their fans and that guards to protect them and their fans.

24. Prince mentioned before that when he prays at night he always asks God to protect his fans, Kyujong said that this was true as he's seen it several times and he constantly stares at Prince when he prays. The last part about Kyujong staring led people to laugh. (I forgot what show it was sorry)

25. When Bebe was once coughing during a fanmeet, the fans spread it to the others at the back and the last girl ran out to buy some cough medicine near a pharmacy and when guards wouldn't let her in she passed it to a friend inside and when it was her turn she gave it to him. he then read through one of his fan letters where one of them mentioned that her friend couldn't come because she was sick so he decided to ask for the staff to help him find the best medicine for a very high fever.

26. During their concert in Thailand, there was a fan who had a Kidney transplant and was eagerly waiting to see SS501. Because there were some complications with her kidney, her friend wrote a letter to Leader about it and gave it to her friend who was going to give a gift to Kyujong, making Kyujong the bridge so that the letter could pass onto him. Leader read the letter and sent the fan a gift (when i saw the picture it was a bunny).

27. There was a fan who argued with the guard that taking pictures using personal cams/phones are not allowed and a professional photographer was hired for this. the fan still took a picture with her fave member on stage and the guard went and broke her phone. Jungmin bought her a new one on the spot and the fan even mentioned it was a better phone than the one she had before and she was speechless. After a month, a fan updated her cyworld account and showed a photo of the phone still looking the same as it was bought.

28. A pregnant fan was in the crowd of people who were standing, she was bearing her child for almost 4 months now and when Young Saeng saw her and saw how hard it was for her to stand and cheer for them, he asked the guards to escort her to a safer place for her to watch the boys. (in other words, one of the seated sections on the VIP spot.)

29. When SS501 was given a letter by a fan asking if they could come to her 18th birthday party they sent her a letter and a big cake (bigger than her original one) and apologized to her and sent a video of them singing happy birthday a 4 of their songs and dancing to it. They apologized because they couldn't come due to conflict schedules but mentioned they would have otherwise, Jungmin even joked and said "And also if we came Hyun Joong would eat your cake and your food at the party and make everyone hungry in the end because he's eaten eveyrthing."

30. Even with much pain due to the recent car accident of Leader, he still continued the making of the MV and some netizens even spotted him wearing his support/bandage around his waist. The staff mentioned they had to stop from time to time because he was at pain but due to the postponement and long wait of fans Leader decided to continue doing the MVs and performances as well as their performances despite the pain he was physically carrying.

Touching Moments In Persona Concert

As we know, the boys were all emotional during PERSONA ENCORE. The first video was the one that made Kyu cry. Then the 2nd vid shows Leader crying when he delivered a very touching message to the fans. Just watching these vids also brings tears to my eyes. There are very few idols who can be seen crying with their fans. It's such a tender moment. These boys really touch my heart. SS501, don't cry... Triple S will always be with you FOREVER.

Wings Of The World Performance

Let's backtrack a bit here... who here loves SS501's song, Sesangui Nalgae or "Wings Of The World"? I know I do! That's why I couldn't resist making a post of this video from their 2008 concert in Japan. I got goosebumps watching this video, not only because the song is beautiful and meaningful, but also because Kyu Jong and Young Saeng cried! Both Kyu and YS are water signs (Kyu is Pisces,YS is Scorpio), so they're really emotional. And it shows in this vid. It's so touching! According to Kyu Jong in his monologue in Arirang, back when they were trainees, he and Young Saeng would have late night talks about this song, and this is, in fact, their favorite ballad of SS501. Jung Min's Drawing And Hyun Joong's Alien Pen

GaeMal strikes again! Jung Min and Hyun Joong... I've always loved the randomness and 4Dness of these two. Even in fanmeetings and interviews, they find ways to amuse themselves when they get bored. In the fan signing event in Malaysia, Jung Min managed to draw a picture of him on the table cloth. LOL! Look closely, the drawing actually looks like him! He drew the nose and lips quite accurately. Looks like our Jung Min has a talent for drawing too!

SS501's Aegyo (Cute Act)

You guys should be familiar with the term "Aegyo" by now, right? Well, for those of you who don't know yet, the term "Aegyo" is derived from Chinese characters "ae", which means "love" and "gyo", which means "beautiful". In English, the closest translation of Aegyo would be "winsome," which, according to Merriam Webster Dictionary, is defined as "generally pleasing and engaging often because of a childlike charm and innocence." They say that if you do an aegyo, you can easily charm people through your sweetness, cuteness, and poutiness.

Those of us who know SS501 and have followed their various shows and appearances, have seen them acting cute and doing aegyo at least a few times. Fans love seeing them acting cute, and they look really adorable doing it too.

SS501's Love For Their Youngest, Baby Kim Hyung Jun

Let's take a little break, and do a little feature on Magnae/Baby Kim Hyung Jun and how he's always the butt of SS501's jokes and bullying antics. Being the youngest of the group, Hyun Jun is pranked the most by the other members, especially Jung Min. They do it lovingly of course, and Baby seems to have resigned to the fact that he will always be the target of their bullying. I guess he has already come to terms with his position in the group and understands that it's all part of the disadvantage of being the youngest.

Out of all the SS501 members, Jung Min and Hyung Jun has the most violent and interesting relationship. Jung Min loves to torture baby so much that these two are dubbed "Tom & Jerry". They're always bickering and annoying each other every chance they get. Personally, I find their love / hate relationship amusing and hilarious. I enjoy watching them fight like children and hit each other jokingly. They're so cute and funny. But they both love each other of course, it's just that they have so much fun fighting! LOL.

But even though Hyung Jun is always bullied by his hyungs, he loves them a lot. And the members love their youngest a lot too. They always make his birthday extra special, for instance. When they have a concert and it falls on Hyung Jun's birthday, they would always do a tribute. And Baby would always cry. Also, those who have watched Idol World have seen how the other 4 members (including their manager and staff) made Hyung Jun cry on his birthday. They pranked him with a hidden camera, made him angry, then surprised him with a birthday cake, and they were all hugging and consoling him in the end. It's so sweet! The members said, "Awww, our baby cried..." They're all so silly and lovable! I don't ever get tired of watching that episode over and over again.

SS501's love for their youngest is so endearing. It's this kind of bond that makes them so strong together. And it just makes me love them even more. To wrap up nicely, I'm going to end this post with a funny gif showing the four SS501 members bullying baby. Just. Adorable.

Jung Minnie, What's With The Pout?

I'm sure those of us with eyes have noticed that Jung Min is fond of pursing his lips. It's one of his trademarks, I guess, along with that famous smirk of his! But actually, I think he looks cute with pursed lips. He's got really nice lips... the kind that's curvy and sexy. What do you think? Hate it or love it? Love it!!!
